If you cannot use power now, I do not trust you with more of it later.

To: Rep. Liccardo, Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff

From: A constituent in Mountain View, CA

January 26

**Use Your Constitutional Power to Stop ICE Abuses Now** You have explicit constitutional authority to act immediately. Congress can investigate executive conduct, compel testimony, and demand documents through subpoenas. Senate and House leadership can call emergency sessions and convene committees today, not next week. You can hold officials in contempt for failing to comply and refer matters for prosecution. You control federal spending and can condition, freeze, or reallocate DHS and ICE funding right now. I will not vote for any Democrat who chose ambition, optics, and algorithm-friendly outrage over intervention during this moment. If you cannot use power now, you cannot be trusted with more power later. History remembers who interrupted abuse in real time, not who posted about it. You may not be able to stop everything, but you can make lawlessness impossible to normalize. That is leadership. Everything else is just content. Use your power or step aside for someone who will.
