I am writing to express my horror at the dismantling and reorganization of the US forestry department. The forestry department is a crucial organization within our government and incredibly important in maintaining the health and safety of our public land.
It is clear that this move is one step in the process of sale of public land to private interests, both industrial and tourism. This undermines the purpose of public land, would widen the resource gap between the ultra-elite and the common people, and will inevitably lead to the destruction of key natural habitats that are necessary for maintaining biodiversity. This is especially egregious is the face if the increased wildfires that place the country, particularly the west coast, in severe peril.
We must staunchly oppose all movements that threaten our public lands, the shining jewels of our country and a key resource that can be quickly exhausted and destroyed. I beg you to take this threat seriously, as once we lose these resources we will never get them back. Please do not let these captain planet villains destroy our lands.
Thank you for your time.
