I am demanding that any tariff revenue collected from West Virginia households be returned directly to us in the form of a $1,700 refund check. Tariffs function as a tax on consumers. West Virginia families are paying higher prices at the store because of federal trade policy. If the federal government is collecting increased revenue from these tariffs, that money should be returned directly to the people who are bearing the cost. I expect you to support legislation that provides a direct rebate to West Virginia households. If tariffs are being imposed in our name, then the financial burden should not fall solely on working families. Send the money back to the people.
