Stop the Military Escalation with Venezuela

To: Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray, Rep. Larsen

From: A constituent in Clinton, WA

January 5

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the Trump administration’s unauthorized military strikes in Venezuela and the increasingly dangerous escalation toward an illegal and unnecessary war. I urge you to take immediate action to prevent further escalation and uphold the constitutional checks and balances on the power of the executive branch. I respectfully request that you: Immediately support and pass a War Powers Resolution to block all unauthorized strikes or military action in Venezuela. Hold public hearings to thoroughly investigate the legality and justification for the administration’s aggressive use of military force. The potential for widespread conflict and the violation of international law are deeply alarming. I believe it is essential that Congress assert its constitutional authority over matters of war and peace. Thank you for your time and consideration of this critical issue.
