The Supreme Court was meant to be the final safeguard of the Constitution — the branch that stood apart from politics, immune to corruption, loyal only to law and liberty. Instead, it has become a shield for one man’s abuses and a weapon against the American people. The justices who enabled this decay have betrayed their oath and dismantled public faith in the institution they were trusted to protect.
This Court has twisted “originalism” into justification for authoritarian power. It has excused executive overreach, ignored blatant conflicts of interest, and allowed political corruption to seep into its own marble halls. It turned away cases demanding accountability for election interference, corruption, and attacks on democracy — while eagerly dismantling protections for women, voters, workers, and the environment. That is not impartial jurisprudence; it is moral surrender in robes.
By refusing to hold a lawless president and his enablers to constitutional standards, the Court has sanctioned the erosion of democracy itself. It has green-lit corruption under the guise of “executive privilege” and reduced checks and balances to ceremonial theater. When a majority of justices act as political operatives, the rule of law collapses into rule by loyalty.
Public trust in the Court has cratered because Americans can see exactly what it has become: a partisan instrument that shields power, punishes dissent, and undermines equal justice. The Court is not above accountability; it is bound to the same Constitution it has allowed others to violate.
Congress must act — through oversight, reform, and if necessary, legislation to restore ethical standards and balance. The people will not accept a judiciary that serves the powerful and abandons the republic. The justices may believe they sit above politics, but they do not sit above consequence. History will remember them not as arbiters of justice, but as collaborators in the collapse of American democracy.
