Things to address to ensure free and fair mid term elections.

To: Rep. Wagner, Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt

From: A constituent in High Ridge, MO

June 24

I am reading reports that our electronic voting machines are being hacked through ballots being added to fake precincts and with compromises at the tabulation and reporting levels. Elon Musk and Peter Teal are implicated in this reporting as playing a role using skyline and AI to hack in though cellular access points. This should be investigated before the mid-terms. In related reporting I had read that the administrations DHS head has not allowed the inter agency election security program to be activated. So during the mid-terms there are no “cops on the beat” of election security. Congress needs to confront this deliberate oversight to ensure that someone in the administration is helping the states run secure elections. I am not in favor of federal take over of elections they need to remain in state control as the constitution directs I am against the DOJs efforts to gathering states private voter roles I think they are planning to disenfranchise voters who are against them. However as has been the norm for years federal agencies should assist the states to run secure elections by informing them of threats to their systems from foreign or domestic “bad actors”. Congress needs to make sure that both these issues are investigated and should do all it can to make sure that the mid terms are free and fair elections. Inaction is not an option the public will accept.
