Over the past 2 weeks, we have seen an unprecedented attack on the United States, the laws of the land, the functions of our government, and the American people by Trump, Musk, the GOP, and their fellow oligarchs. Attempts to subvert Congressionally directed funding, ICE's gestapo-esque raids on immigrants, the plan to refurbish Guantanamo into a concentration camp, attacks against the rights of trans people, purges of non-partisan government employees, requiring loyalty oaths to Trump instead of the US, Musk's illegal ceasure of our protected information, Trump's deletion of observances by the federal government of Black and other minority history, Trump's dangerous and unqualified appointments, Trump's blatant acceptance of bribes, etc. What we are witnessing is the completion of the coup that he started (and escaped punishment for) on 1/6/2021. What we are witnessing is the birth of an oligarchy that is set on carving up our nation. What we are witnessing is the murder of democracy here at home. It can not go unchallenged. We need you to stand against the firehouse of fascism and corruption coming out of this administration. We need you to stand for freedom and democracy, to protect those who are most vulnerable. Introduce articles of impeachment for Trump's clear violations of his oath of office; even if they won't succeed, it is important to document in real time the enormity of his violations. Filibuster the GOP's extreme bills. Vote against and speak out against Trump's appointments. Get on every podcast, talk show, and news show out there to condemn in detail this horrorshow of an administration and its actions. In short, fight like hell and, in the immortal words of John Lewis, make good trouble. This is a five-alarm fire. As Lincoln said, “At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." We are at the inflection point of our nation's death by suicide, as these enemies from within eye various parts of its soon-to-be corpse. We need you to do everything in your power to try and save it and us. Thank you.
