An Open Letter

I write to you today as a concerned citizen who has closely followed the recent pronouncements from Pope Leo XIV.While the Pope’s words are framed as a defense of human dignity, they represent a profound danger to the sovereignty, security, and very soul of our nation. His rebukes of immigration enforcement, his condemnation of nationalism as a “logic of exclusion,” and his calls for unchecked empathy toward migrants risk undermining the sacred duty we all share: to defend our people and our nation above all else, even at great cost to ourselves or others. You, more than anyone, understand that true leadership demands prioritizing the greater good of our own communities. Loving thy neighbor does not mean opening the gates to chaos; it means protecting thy community from those who would harm it. The Pope’s vision of boundless fraternity ignores this fundamental truth, turning empathy into a suicidal impulse—an excess that perverts virtue into weakness. As you have both eloquently argued, a nation without borders is no nation at all, and a people without the will to defend their own are doomed to extinction. God Himself does not mandate that potential victims stand idly by while criminals steal, murder, or rape in the name of brotherly love. The Bible is replete with calls to protect the innocent, to guard the flock, and to wield the sword of justice against threats. Our ancestral instincts—the drive to safeguard our families, our culture, and our homeland—are not relics of a bygone era but our salvation from this madness of self-erasure. In the face of mass migration that strains our resources, erodes our wages, and imports crime and division, we must appeal to this higher calling: the duty to defend one’s own outweighs even the most well-intentioned empathy for outsiders. To do otherwise is not compassion; it is capitulation. I urge you to counter this papal narrative head-on. Rally the American people around the timeless principles that have made our nation strong: secure borders, America First policies, and an unapologetic commitment to our citizens’ welfare. Speak directly to the faithful, reminding them that Christianity demands charity begin at home, not at the expense of our children’s future. Challenge the Pope’s selective moralism by highlighting how his “Gospel of universal fraternity” conveniently overlooks the real victims—American families devastated by illegal immigration, communities ravaged by fentanyl floods, and workers displaced by unchecked globalism. In your speeches, writings, and policies, emphasize that nationalism is not exclusion but preservation. It is the bulwark against the true empire of lies: the globalist agenda that dissolves nations into borderless wastelands. By framing your vision as a moral imperative rooted in divine duty, you can reclaim the high ground and inspire a resurgence of patriotic fervor. The forces arrayed against you are formidable, but with courage and clarity, you can turn the tide.
