Condemn Federal Interference in State Election Systems

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick, Rep. Smucker

From: A verified voter in Lititz, PA

November 1

Publicly condemn the DOJ's unlawful seizure of state voter records and the Trump administration's unconstitutional push to nationalize our elections. The federal government has no legal authority over state-run election systems, and what is happening right now is a direct assault on that boundary. Courts have already struck down parts of Trump's executive order requiring proof of citizenship at registration, confirming the executive branch is overstepping. The pattern is alarming. The FBI raided Fulton County, Georgia's election headquarters and seized ballots, voter rolls, and digital data from 2020. Attorney General Pam Bondi threatened to pull ICE from Minnesota unless Governor Walz handed over sensitive voter registration records. The DOJ has now sued more than 20 states for refusing to comply with demands for voter files that federal law explicitly bars the DOJ from accessing. A secretive national citizenship database has been built to screen voters, with no transparency about how that data will be used. These are not policy disagreements. This is a coordinated effort to seize control of elections that belong to the states and to the voters. A public condemnation sends a clear signal that this interference will not go unanswered.
