Remove Flock cameras from our city immediately and demand the deletion of every data point they have collected. These systems don't just read license plates — they build movement profiles on residents who never consented to being tracked, and the data is accessible to third parties with little to no independent oversight. Being found is not the same as being safe, and a surveillance network with no meaningful controls is a threat, not a public service.
Our own IT departments have raised legal, civil liberties, and cybersecurity concerns about these systems, and officials have pushed forward anyway. That is not governance — that is recklessness. If the city cannot demonstrate who can access this data, under what authority, and with what accountability, then it had no business collecting it in the first place. Cancel the Flock contracts, return or destroy the data, and bring any future surveillance proposals back before the full council for a transparent public vote.
