Remove Big Bill provisions loosening restrictions on silencers

To: Sen. Lankford, Sen. Mullin

From: A verified voter in Broken Arrow, OK

May 25

I was a police officer in Broken Arrow and I would like you to seriously consider removing provisions in the Big Bill that make silencers easier to obtain. Active shooter mass casualty events have been more prevalent recently, even striking nearby in Tulsa. A silencer would make police response exponentially more difficult and dangerous for responding officers by making the shooter difficult to locate, allowing a shooter to kill more people and even possibly officers by ambush. The sound of gunfire is the best tool police have to locate a shooter. Without that, they could be forced into slower search methods that ensure more people will die. Laws making silencers difficult to obtain were put in place for a reason. Please stand up for first responders and protect your constituents lives by removing this provision from the Big Bill.
