I am writing to implore you to support the Long Covid Research Moonshot Act of 2024. I, among many millions of Americans, including my loved ones, have been affected directly by COVID and post-COVID chronic illness. Long COVID, also referred to as PASC and long-haul COVID, has placed a painful pause upon--or sometimes ruined entirely--the lives of millions of Americans. This huge and continuing influx of chronically disabled people from all walks of life will continue to put a strain on this country and our economy for years and years to come. We need to provide ample funding NOW for clinical trials and continuing research into long COVID bio-markers, to amass solid data to provide to drug companies so they may participate in helping find a cure. American doctors and scientists have made incredible strides in advancing medicine over the past couple decades.
