I am an active voter. I feel ill, shocked and wildly dissapointed due to the fact that Governor Hochul participated in a pro-israel rally. I want to emphasize that I am against the political ideology of zionism, and I have the utmost respect for the jewish community worldwide. For the last 70+ years Israel has forced the people of Palestine into an aparteid state and is actively committing genocide against them. As stated in article 2 of the genocide convention, killing members of a group on a wide scale, causing them serious mental or physical harm to the group, deliberately inflicting conditions that destroy the group, preventing births, and controlling children of the group with the "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group" is a genocide. Israel's destruction of hospitals, universities, schools and leveling of entire cities while forcing Palestinians through beaucratic hoops, and hurdles to even get water or argricultural permits, or to live on their own land fits the definiton of genocide. Hochuls' blatant support of the eradication and genocide of indigenous Palestinian children, women and men is horrific, morally reprehensible and utterly despicable. I demand that Hochul denouces Israels genocide, I demand that she stops taking money from pro israeli groups and I demand that Hochul stands up for the basic human rights that Israel is stripping from Palestinians.
