An Open Letter

To: Sen. Schuring, Gov. DeWine, Rep. Oelslager

From: A verified voter in North Canton, OH

June 4

I’m writing in opposition to HB 73. The unforeseen consequences of forcing pharmacists and hospitals to bypass standards of care is dangerous. In the opioid epidemic, pharmacists were some of the first people to ring alarm bells about pill mills and shut down some harmful and dangerous doctors. This could also have consequences for people who use medications successfully with off-label uses. Forcing businesses to do things is not the freedom I understand Ohio Republicans to stand for. I hope you’ll join me in fiercely opposing this measure.
