Vote NO on HB 3225!

To: Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Schwertner, Rep. Harris Davila

From: A constituent in Leander, TX

April 21

I'm a constituent in and I am calling to ask the Representative to oppose HB 3225 when it comes to the House floor for a vote. Since there is no option for parents to opt in or out of restrictions the bill would impose, HB 3225 would take away parents' rights to decide what books their own children can and cannot access in the public library. The way the law is written, all minors- including teenage patrons- would be limited to the children's section of the library. And if libraries cannot guarantee physical separation of books that contain "sexually explicit" as broadly defined by the bill, public libraries may have to ban patrons under 18 from accessing the library, without their parents, all together. Please ensure our community's libraries remain open to patrons of all ages and oppose HB 3225. Thank you for your time.
