Demand the Immediate Release of 16-Year-Old U.S. Citizen Mohammed Ibrahim

To: Rep. Hayes, Sen. Murphy, Sen. Blumenthal

From: A verified voter in Waterbury, CT

November 7

Today, a 16-year-old American boy sits in an Israeli prison — and he has been there since March 2025. This is unacceptable and a blatant violation of human rights. Mohammed Ibrahim, a U.S. citizen from Florida, has been unlawfully detained by Israeli forces for over eight months. Mohammed is not alone — more than 300 Palestinian children are being held under horrific conditions in Israeli prisons. The Israeli government must release all detained children, including Mohammed Ibrahim, without delay. He is just a child and must be reunited with his family in Florida. Mohammed’s next court hearing is on November 9th in an Israeli military court. I am demanding that you issue a public statement immediately calling for his release. As my elected official, you have both the authority and the responsibility to act. Use your office to urge the U.S. Department of State to intervene and ensure Mohammed’s immediate release on November 9th. This American child has been beaten, starved, and denied medical care — he now suffers from scabies due to inhumane prison conditions. It is the duty of the United States government to protect its citizens abroad. Failing to act in Mohammed’s case endangers every American. I urge you again to call on both the U.S. State Department and the Israeli government to demand the immediate release of 16-year-old U.S. citizen Mohammed Ibrahim of Florida.
