I urge you to oppose the proposed Census rule changes by the Department of Commerce. These changes would erase immigrant representation across the country and worsen civil rights protections for all Americans. The additional elimination of race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation from the demographic information would risk diluting our scientific understanding on the health and environmental impacts of different populations as many researchers rely on census data to aid in their research.
