The proposed $9.4 billion in rescissions directly threatens vital public services that millions of Americans rely on. Eliminating funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would devastate local stations, many of which serve rural and underserved communities by providing essential news, educational programming, and emergency information. These cuts also decimate foreign aid initiatives that combat disease, support refugees, and promote global stability - ultimately preventing the spread of conflict that runs counter to U.S. strategic interests. Rather than rushing through these drastic cuts that undermine responsible governance, we should engage in thoughtful, bipartisan deliberation to fund programs with longstanding support from both parties. Protect public media and lifesaving global health initiatives by opposing this harmful rescissions package.
