I'm urging you to more fully promote investment in clean, affordable renewable energy and stop imperiling our future.
I am a constituent -- my family is in your service territory. Every day, we make careful financial decisions to keep our household running.
Your updated 2025 energy plan raises serious concerns: It includes no new investments in utility-scale solar and wind for Utah and Wyoming for the next two decades. Meanwhile, retirement dates for aging, costly and harmful coal plants have been removed or delayed, and new methane gas is being planned, prolonging dependence on expensive and volatile fossil fuels like coal and methane gas. Customers are being asked to absorb the financial risk of these decisions. At the same time, more affordable and reliable energy options are available today, including wind, solar, batteries, and geothermal. Choosing not to invest in them now locks customers in to higher costs and unhealthier air for years to come. Delaying the transition to clean energy will continue to expose customers to fuel-price swings, rising operating costs, and long-term infrastructure expenses that remain on bills for decades. That is not a risk we can afford. As you look ahead to your 2027 energy plan, you have an opportunity to make a different choice: invest in resources that are cost-effective, dependable, built for the future, and not cowtowing to Trump and his egomaniacal hate for renewable energy.
Our electric bill is ridiculous anymore, and Social Security COLA increases don't keep up with the astronomically increasing costs of everything. I signed up for your evidently ludicrous Bluesky program. Your not building out wind and solar at the rate that is needed. I thought the Bluesky initiative was meant to do just that. To cut my costs in going to have to drop out of the Bluesky program. Also the way business infrastructure build out costs are being foisted on residential customers is wrong.
