You don't get to uphold the status quo and run around pretending you're on the side of progressives. By watering down our climate initiatives and failing to back a billionaire tax you're doing nothing but hurting New Yorkers and pretending you're saving face. We see your failures, your façade, and your lies of omission. Back a billionaire and corporate tax, close the tax evasion loopholes that only the ultra wealthy can enjoy; while those of us living paycheck to paycheck fear our 60,000 annual salary taxes being misfiled, end up with fines that will fully incapacitate us or put us in prison. Whether it's likely or not, the fear is real and we live with it every day. We cannot afford lawyers. We cannot afford accountants. The cost of a green new deal would be covered with tax revenue if the people hoarding the most wealth paid their fair share in taxes. Stop pandering to the billionaires who tell you renewable energy isn't feasible because there is a difference between not feasible and not profitable and we all know what the truth is. We have been footing the bill for society while billionaires create the hamster wheel we all run on and wonder how things got to be so terrible. Stand up for once with some actual spine and stand up to the people who are making our lives miserable instead of nodding yes while footing us with the bill, the closing hospitals, the disappeared Medicaid and snap benefits, the astronomically long commute times due to crumbling infrastructure. What do you even believe in? All you've done is perpetuate and worsen the status quo. Why are you even serving? Billionaire and corporation tax or face a primary challenger who actually cares about their constituents.
