An Open Letter

Climate disasters are getting worse, and small towns and rural areas are having a hard time keeping up. Many of these places don’t have strong buildings, good roads, or enough money to get ready for big storms, floods, or other problems. The ACRE Act (S.401) would help by giving more money and support to the areas that need it most. It would pick special “resilience zones” where communities would get help before a disaster hits, not just after. That means better planning, stronger buildings, and faster recovery when something goes wrong. This is really important for rural places that are often forgotten. These towns matter. Families, farmers, and small businesses need to be protected, just like big cities. They shouldn’t have to wait longer or suffer more just because they’re smaller or have fewer resources. Helping these areas now will save money and lives in the future. It’s not just fair—it’s smart. Please support the ACRE Act and do everything you can to make sure it becomes law. Our rural communities are depending on it.
