I am demanding the immediate removal of work requirements for SNAP and Medicaid benefits in all 50 states.
Work requirements are unnecessary and prohibit disabled people who are unable to qualify for SSDI or SSI benefits from qualifying for the benefits that would keep them from starving or dying of preventable conditions. They are also prohibitive to homeless people who are unable to maintain gainful employment.
Work requirements hurt families with children. Often, forcing a parent to work puts them at an income bracket where they can't afford the food they need to live, let alone thrive, but also can't qualify for benefits.
The income limits need to be updated for these programs. They should be adjusted proportionally to the impact of inflation.
If the government does not protect the interests of the common people, it will not stand. We are tired of funding your death cult.
