I’m writing to demand immediate action and public condemnation of three deeply troubling developments:
1. Militarized Policing of Civilians
The Trump administration’s deployment of National Guard troops to American cities is a dangerous abuse of power. Using military force to police civilians is costly, undemocratic, and designed to intimidate communities into silence. I urge you to speak out forcefully against this tactic and reject any further militarization of domestic law enforcement.
2. Rampant Abuse by ICE
I’m horrified by reports of ICE agents zip-tying children, destroying homes, detaining U.S. citizens, endangering pregnant women, and even targeting journalists—especially in Chicago. These actions are unconscionable. Congress must investigate these abuses and immediately halt funding to ICE until accountability and reform are achieved. Our tax dollars should not bankroll cruelty.
3. Obstruction of Democratic Process & Transparency
Speaker Johnson’s refusal to swear in Adelita Grijalva is unacceptable. Every delay in releasing the Epstein files raises serious concerns about complicity and obstruction. I expect you to publicly demand that Grijalva be sworn in without delay and support the swift passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
These issues reflect a broader erosion of democratic norms and human rights. I’m calling on you to lead with courage and integrity. Your constituents are watching.
