I think it's important to listen to the young people protesting and causing disrupting on college campuses. The majority of the demonstrations are peaceful although those don't get the coverage in the media. I agree there is no place for violence against others and that goes for law enforcement as well and especially. But breaking the law by occupying space, outdoors or in, is a long standing practice in civil disobedience. Putting your body, peacefully, in a space that makes others uncomfortable is what was done on those lunch counters and busses not so long ago. We need to find a way to listen to these kids. I know this is messy. It's democracy. But we need them and they deserve our attention. They are our future.
