If Republicans were actually worried about waste, fraud, and abuse, they would investigate the Department of Defense. According to a report from government watchdog Open the Books, under Hegseth the Pentagon blew through $93.4 billion in September 2025 alone, with more than $50 billion going out in the last 5 days of the month. This included $98,329 for a Steinway grand piano for the Air Force chief of staff's home and a ridiculous amount of shellfish, including $6.9 million for lobster tails, a favorite of Hegseth, who spent more than $7.4 million of taxpayer money on lobster tails in March, May, June, and October. All while Republicans were slashing funding for schools, Veterans, healthcare, and food assistance and before the additional billion dollars per day for the Iran war. We know where the real waste is happening. Do your job!
