Thank you, Senator, for taking such a strong position on AI! I recently attended a protest rally in Sahuarita where a new data center may be built within a quarter of a mile from beautiful neighborhoods. A speaker at the event pointed out that the wildlife park they are developing east of Sahuarita required it be located at least two miles from any data center because the loud constant hum from a data center would keep them awake and agitated - the same thing that will happen to our neighbors with lovely homes there should this data center be built, not to mention the expected increases in consumer prices for electricity and water to residents because of the intense draw a data center would create. And, of course, the ever current problem of water in a desert. The proposed Copper World will drain millions of gallons from our precious aquifer each year for decades, or as long as it lasts.
Thanks again for your cautions and concerns about this issue. We are looking forward to your future actions to save the scenic Santa Rita’s.
