His recent actions violate the Constitution, endanger public safety, and undermine the core values of democracy, justice, and equality. Since returning to office, President Trump has demonstrated gross negligence and abuse of power. The ongoing leadership vacuum at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) directly contributes to aviation safety risks, with recent crashes underscoring this administration’s failure to ensure competent oversight. His refusal to prioritize public safety is a dereliction of duty, violating Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which requires the president to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” Additionally, his administration is actively suppressing and erasing critical public health data, including long-standing COVID-19 research and records on marginalized communities. This violates the Presidential Records Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 22) and obstructs transparent policymaking, endangering vulnerable populations—including those of us with chronic illnesses who rely on accurate medical data. Equally troubling is Trump’s alignment with Elon Musk, who has been illegally accessing and destroying public information, including government and scientific records. Rather than holding him accountable, Trump is enabling corporate overreach, violating ethical and legal standards meant to ensure government transparency. The destruction of federal records could constitute a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2071, which criminalizes the willful removal or destruction of official documents. Furthermore, Trump’s ongoing efforts to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives directly attack the civil rights protections enshrined in the 14th Amendment and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. His administration’s white supremacist agenda, suppression of voting rights, and prioritization of billionaires over working Americans threaten the democratic principles this country was founded on. Call to Action I urge you to: Initiate impeachment proceedings based on Trump’s abuse of power, negligence in public safety, and obstruction of public data. Push for congressional investigations into the suppression of public health research and Musk’s unlawful data destruction, ensuring accountability for both government and private actors. Publicly condemn and resist the dismantling of diversity and inclusion policies, reaffirming that equity remains a core American value. Silence is complicity.
