Hold the Trump Administration Accountable for the Potomac River Tragedy

To: Sen. Husted, Rep. Kaptur, Sen. Moreno

February 1, 2025

The Trump administration needs to be held responsible for the tragic plane crash that occurred over the Potomac River on January 29, 2025. While the President continues to blame “DEI” hires, he refuses to accept responsibility for his actions that contributed to it. Just days before, Trump fired the head of the TSA as well as the entire Aviation Security Advisory Committee. The head of the FAA stepped down after repeated harassment from prominent Trump ally, Elon Musk. In addition, the Trump administration put a freeze on hiring additional air traffic controllers, putting even more strain on an continuously understaffed, overworked team. All of these drastic changes contributed to the accident that claimed the lives of innocent Americans. The fact that Trump is more focused on blaming minorities than acknowledging the accident he personally made possible is despicable. As an American citizen, I demand you hold the President and his team accountable for making reckless decisions that endanger the lives of innocent civilians. We are less than two weeks into his new term and he is already costing people their lives. Do something about it.
