Hi, I’m a constituent from Santa Monica (90405), a member of the LA County Democratic Central Committee and of Indivisible Westside Los Angeles. I’m writing to ask you to please CONDEMN MUSK’S ATTEMPT TO TAKE OVER TREASURY’S SECURE PAYMENT SYSTEMS. This is a hair-on-fire situation akin to Trump’s attempt to freeze all federal funding this week. Musk allies (not even government officials, yet) pushed out the man in charge of America’s checkbook - for Social Security payments, Medicare, all of it - and are trying to get access to it themselves. It’s an attempted workaround for the court orders against the attempted federal firing freeze. It’s a soft coup. This is all part of an effort of the Trump admin - and the richest man in the world - to unilaterally control spending without following what the money was appropriated for, or the law. I urge you to speak out against this and do whatever you can to stop it. Thank you.
