I'm calling on you to launch an investigation into Pete Hegseth and pursue impeachment proceedings. His promotion of Christian nationalist ideology is incompatible with his role as Secretary of Defense and violates his oath to uphold the Constitution. Christian nationalism threatens the separation of church and state that protects religious freedom for all Americans. Hegseth has openly advocated for policies that would privilege one religious viewpoint over others and undermine the secular foundations of our military. This isn't about his personal faith. It's about using government power to impose a specific religious agenda on our armed forces and the country. The Defense Department must serve all Americans regardless of their religion or lack thereof. Hegseth's ideology creates a hostile environment for service members who don't share his beliefs and damages unit cohesion. His views also alienate our allies and embolden our adversaries who already accuse us of religious imperialism. Congress has a constitutional duty to check executive branch officials who abuse their authority. Start the investigation now.
