Vote NO on Educational Choice for Children Act

To: Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno, Rep. Joyce

From: A constituent in Concord Township, OH

May 17, 2025

Please vote NO on the Educational Choice for Children Act (H.R. 833 / S. 292). This bill would drain $10 billion a year from public education to fund private school vouchers through a 100% tax credit scheme — an unprecedented giveaway to the wealthy. It turns public dollars into private subsidies with zero accountability. The money can go to schools that discriminate, reject curriculum standards, and don’t have to report results. It will worsen inequality, especially for students with disabilities and low-income families. Public schools — which educate 90% of America’s children — will lose vital funding. Expect larger classes, fewer programs, and even closures. Worse, the bill creates massive new tax loopholes, like using appreciated stock to dodge capital gains taxes. It’s bad policy, bad math, and bad for kids. Oppose it. Thanks.
