You must speak out and fight with all your might against The Big Ugly Evil Budget Bill that just passed in the House, by a single vote, in the dead of the night. I trust you as a Democrat to know how deeply immoral and destructive this Bill is, and I am sure I do not have to enumerate why. Some of the speeches against it have been excellent, but I have hardly heard your voice. The Republicans in Arizona who voted for this monstrosity are finished. No matter what it takes, fight, fight, fight against this Bill. No compromise. Send it back to the House for revision if you can. I fear for the people of Arizona dependent on Medicaid, like my sister’s family. She is an elderly disabled mother caring for two adult disabled sons. None of them are capable of working, and all have serious health issues. I myself struggle each month to pay my subsidized ACA premium, which is due to go up under the bill. Medicare, too, will be impacted. One of the worst aspects of it, as you know, is the sneaky and illegal attempt to shield the president and all members of his administration, from any consequences as a result of ignoring court orders. That’s a completely insane thing to try to codify into law. The SCOTUS will strike it down as soon as they get an opportunity to do so. This may be the single most important fight of your life. I urge you to speak up, to speak against it all over Arizona, to let the people know exactly what the GOP have done. Give this fight everything you’ve got! Let the people of Arizona know you have our backs. GET LOUD, for God’s sake.
