To Members of Congress,
The White House is not Donald Trump’s playground, trophy case, or monument to his ego. If he tears apart the East Wing, damages historic spaces, or forces reconstruction for some gaudy vanity project, then he should be legally required to pay for every inch of restoration out of his own pocket.
Not one taxpayer dollar. Not one backroom appropriation. Not one hidden “executive renovation” fund.
Americans are exhausted watching politicians preach fiscal responsibility while treating public property like a personal branding exercise. Families are struggling to pay rent, veterans are waiting for care, air traffic systems are aging, and infrastructure is crumbling—yet somehow there is always money available for political vanity and self-promotion.
Enough.
Congress should immediately pass legislation prohibiting taxpayer funds from being used to repair, rebuild, redesign, or restore any damage resulting from politically motivated alterations to the East Wing. If Trump wants gold-plated theatrics and oversized legacy projects, he can finance them himself like every other billionaire claims they can.
The White House belongs to the American people. It is not a campaign prop, a luxury development project, or a stage set for personal glorification. Any destruction of historic integrity for ego or spectacle is an insult to the office and to the public that pays the bills.
Do your job. Protect the building. Protect taxpayer money. And make absolutely certain Donald Trump is personally responsible for the consequences of his own decisions.
Andrew
