Demand for Accountability/Immediate Action to Protect Children/Prosecute Abusers
To: Sen. Hawley, Rep. Onder, Sen. Schmitt
From: A constituent in Columbia, MO
February 13
I am writing to you as an American citizen, a person of faith, and the father of a daughter.
Like many Americans, I watched Pam Bondi’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee with disbelief and disgust. What I witnessed was not transparency or accountability, but evasion, deflection, and what appeared to be a deliberate effort to obscure the truth in the face of serious and legitimate questions.
When public officials dodge basic accountability—especially in matters involving abuse, exploitation, and the safety of children—it sends a chilling message: that power and loyalty are being placed above justice and human dignity.
Let me be clear: If any public official is protecting abusers, suppressing evidence, obstructing investigations, or shielding perpetrators from accountability, that official is complicit in harm. There must be zero tolerance for this.
I am demanding the following from you as my elected representative:
* **Expose and fully investigate** any individuals or networks involved in child exploitation or abuse.
* **Terminate** any officials who obstruct justice, suppress evidence, or protect perpetrators.
* **Prosecute** all individuals involved to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of rank, wealth, or political affiliation.
* **Ensure survivors are centered**, believed, and protected — not silenced, dismissed, or retraumatized by political maneuvering.
As a parent, I am sickened by the idea that survivors are watching leaders equivocate while the people who harmed them remain shielded. Children deserve fierce advocates in government, not political operatives who curate darkness to protect powerful men.
If you have supported, enabled, or remained silent in the face of this kind of conduct, I expect you to publicly account for that and reverse course immediately. Silence and inaction are not neutral — they are choices.
My faith teaches that there is accountability beyond this life, but in a nation of laws, accountability must exist in this one as well. The law should not exist to protect the powerful from consequences; it should exist to protect the vulnerable from harm.
I will be watching how you act on this issue. Your response — or lack of one — will inform my future civic participation and support.
Do the right thing.
Protect children.
Expose wrongdoing.
Hold perpetrators and enablers accountable.
