Student loans are predatory

To: Sen. Moran, Rep. Davids, Sen. Marshall

From: A verified voter in Ottawa, KS

December 17

Something MUST be done about the student loan crisis in this country. The recently released list of degrees that qualify for professional loans is just another reminder that greed seems to win over everything here. Student loan interest rates should be non-existent. People pay in double or triple what they borrowed because of these predatory lending practices. Student loan forgiveness needs to be revisited. Those in good standing who have been making their payments do not deserve to have the rug pulled out from under them by this administration trying to get rid of income based repayment and forgiveness, or by gutting PSLF. We should strive to have more educated people, not take away any chance of a future. As someone who had been paying loans and will most likely continue to pay loans until I'm dead, I support widespread student loan forgiveness and not having that forgiveness taxed.
