What Trump said about bombing San Diego and Los Angeles was not a joke, and treating it as one is no longer acceptable. A sitting president publicly musing about attacking American cities on American soil is a betrayal of his oath of office. The people in that room who cheered should alarm every elected official in this country. This is the moment to act, not hedge.
Prosecute him. Name every Republican in Congress and on the Supreme Court who has run interference for him as co-conspirators where the evidence supports it. San Diego is home to the Navy's Pacific Fleet. Joking about bombing it is not a gaffe — it is a threat against our own military and the civilians who live alongside it.
The "boys will be boys" era of accountability is over. Your constituents are watching to see whether you will go on record, loudly and publicly, demanding prosecution. Run on it. Say it out loud. We are done waiting for someone else to be the first to call this what it is.
