An Open Letter

To: Sen. Graham Nordone, Sen. Scott, Gov. McMaster, Rep. Biggs, Rep. White, Pres. Trump, Sen. Cromer

From: A constituent in Prosperity, SC

October 8

To President Trump and all lawmakers serving the long-term interests of the United States: This MUsT be addressed immediately and it must be legislation addressing the following problem. It is fundamentally unequal checks and balances that medical providers, hospitals, and related entities can write off a patient’s medical debt to the government. These same providers set prices that few Americans can afford. This practice has created a severe financial strain on the healthcare system itself—so much so that even manufacturers of hospital equipment base their pricing on these inflated figures. If anyone should have the right to write off my medical debt, it should be me—the patient who incurred it. At least I cannot invent the price. I demand a sit down if I’m allowed to demand lol ; and then you all take action to this issue of matter.
