The proposed tax plan unfairly favors the ultra-wealthy over working families. It provides massive, permanent tax cuts for the top 0.1% of income earners, giving them an average tax break of $309,000 per year by 2029. In contrast, those making $30,000 or less would see a tax increase starting in 2029. This lopsided distribution of benefits exacerbates income inequality. Furthermore, the plan pays for these tax cuts for the rich by gutting critical programs that millions of Americans rely on. Over 11 million could lose health insurance due to cuts to Medicaid and premium subsidies. Food assistance would be slashed, jeopardizing nutrition for 3 million people. Funding for public safety efforts like the FBI, DEA, and wildfire prevention would be decimated. Rather than rewarding the ultra-wealthy at the expense of ordinary Americans, tax reform should focus on providing real relief and opportunity for working families and rebuilding the nation's ability to meet their basic needs. A fair tax code that reinvests in healthcare, education, and community safety would benefit all citizens, not just the privileged few. I urge you to reject this misguided plan that so disproportionately harms the majority of your constituents.
