Do Not Use Federal Power to Restrict Reproductive Healthcare

To: Pres. Trump

From: A verified voter in Dunlap, IL

August 5

I strongly oppose any attempt by the White House, Department of Justice, FDA, or HHS to restrict medication abortion through the Comstock Act, changes to FDA policy, limits on telehealth, or restrictions on pharmacy and mail delivery. The federal government must not use executive authority to impose a national abortion restriction that Congress has not enacted. Patients must retain access to evidence-based reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, miscarriage management, contraception, and FDA-approved medication. I ask the President to direct the Department of Justice not to reinterpret the Comstock Act against reproductive healthcare and to preserve existing telehealth and mail-access rules for mifepristone. Bodily autonomy, medical privacy, and freedom from government-imposed religious doctrine are fundamental human rights. Please abandon any plan to interfere with private reproductive-health decisions.
