No illegal $1.7 billion Anti-Weaponization slush fund

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Van Duyne, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

May 20

I am writing regarding the Republican administration’s $1.7 billion "Anti-Weaponization Fund," a slush fund with no judicial oversight, no legal basis, and no accountability. The fund's structure makes the corruption obvious. Four of its five overseers were chosen by the Attorney General, the president can remove any of them without cause, unspent money goes wherever the president directs, and the DOJ document explicitly states the U.S. has "no liability whatsoever" for fraud or misuse. The amended agreement also permanently bars the IRS from ever auditing or prosecuting the president, his family, or the Trump Organization. Legal analyst Joyce White Vance called it "a pardon on steroids." Treasury's top lawyer resigned the day it was announced. The 14th Amendment bars compensation for those who engaged in insurrection, and Acting AG Blanche refused to rule out paying January 6 rioters who attacked police officers. You have the ability to stop this travesty of justice. No one in American is above the law, and you as a member of Congress have the power, and the duty, to block this fund. My wife and I urge you to investigate, block, and defund this dangerous action by the administration.
