Support S. 5476 — Sanction Israeli Settlement Expansion and End U.S. Complicity

To: Rep. Crow, Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet

From: A verified voter in Littleton, CO

October 14

I demand that Congress immediately support and advance S. 5476, legislation imposing sanctions on those responsible for financing, facilitating, and constructing illegal Israeli settlements in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank. Senators must cosponsor and advance this legislation, and House members must introduce and support companion legislation. Israel’s continued expansion of illegal settlements, displacement of Palestinians, and annexation of occupied territory must face meaningful consequences. But let me be absolutely clear: This legislation is merely the first of many necessary steps to stop Israel’s genocide, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Targeted sanctions against settlement facilitators are insufficient while the United States continues providing Israel with weapons, military assistance, and political protection. Congress must pursue a comprehensive arms embargo, end military aid and cooperation, impose meaningful accountability measures, and uphold Palestinian freedom, self-determination, and human rights. Half measures will not end these atrocities. Congress must act decisively, beginning with S. 5476, and continue until U.S. complicity ends. I expect a direct response outlining the actions you will take.
