I just got to watch my Texas senator on the local news reacting to the news that numerous arts and humanities organizations in his home state abruptly had promised funding yanked out from under them. With a concerned face he said basically when the federal government is trying to trim the budget some folks are going to be upset.
Senator Cornyn. Here’s an idea. How about putting the kibosh on the vanity parade planned for Trump’s birthday? That would save millions of dollars plus not make us look so much like the burgeoning autocracy that we’re becoming.
How about limiting the president’s golf outings to his own properties?
How about not paying a foreign government millions of dollars to house men that we don’t even know should actually be in prison at all?
How about we don’t spend $18K+ per migrant expelled from our country? Many of whom who were productive members of our society.
And now we want to pay them to self-deport.
How about any number of cuts that could be made that wouldn’t entail apparent punishment for the arts in America?
This is pure cruelty. Abuse of power. Don’t call it anything else but that.
This entire administration and the GOP Congress reek of hypocrisy. Best to keep your mouths shut than prove it every time you don’t.
Every day in every way we the people get more and more angry.
