An Open Letter

Madam, You are the only government official who can suspend or remove a duly elected county Sheriff. I am not asking for a permanent removal of Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire, just a temporary suspension in light of his criminal trial. He has refused to take a leave of absence, which heightens growing suspicion of his guilt in the eyes of many here in Hillsdale county. A smarter man would see the necessity of a temporary leave of absence, and appoint his undersheriff as acting Sheriff until the conclusion of the trial. Until the conclusion and resolution of his trial, he should not be on duty.
