"For years, American taxpayers have been on the hook for subsidizing National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as 'news.'" And, calling them "trash that passes as 'news'" and "intolerance of non-leftist viewpoints." These statements, from Trump and his administration, can only be labelled in one of two ways: One, wholly ignorant statements made by those who have never listened to NPR or watched PBS. Or two, utter propaganda spun out of a fear that NPR and PBS are not under their thumb of control. To quote an “AI” source, “NPR and PBS are good, trustworthy resources for underserved communities, particularly when it comes to accessibility, education, and local news. They play an important role in filling media gaps, especially compared to commercial outlets.” But, I think I’ll simply paraphrase Bob Newhart and say, “I don’t like ignorance and fear mongering, but I don’t mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like ignorance and fear mongering, denigrate means ‘put down”. Support and fund NPR and PBS!
