There are so many attacks on our people, our resources, and our laws in the Big Ugly Con that is the reconciliation. In addition to attacks on head start, job corps, Americorps, Medicare, Medicaid, fema, nws nhs, ccd, tribal colleges and higher education and science as a whole, there are built in attacks on our public lands designed to provide kickbacks to private industry and even less tax liability for the rich. The forest service is something every American depends on for recreation, fire wood, hunting, fishing, hiking and camping as well as for conserving our resources for the public good. They also manage to a of public engagement and outreach programming and lots of fire and pest prevention! The current abomination threatens to eliminate the U.S. Forest Service’s State, Private, and Tribal Forestry (SPTF) programs—a move that would have devastating consequences for communities, volunteer fire departments, landowners, and forests across the country. These programs directly support wildfire prevention, volunteer fire departments, reforestation, community forestry, forest health, and rural economic resilience. Their elimination would leave our communities without the resources, tools, and partnerships needed to protect lives, property, and the environment. These programs provide funding for various community forestry activities, including: NFS technical assistance to help communities make informed decisions, such as tree inventories, inventory software access, evaluation of at-risk trees, arborist training, municipal staff training, tree board assistance, ordinance drafting, forest management support, and much more. Support for programs like Tree City USA, Tree Care workshops, and events. Arborist support includes low-cost or free CEU trainings and arborist prep. Forest health diagnostics and monitoring. Pass-through funding for initiatives like the Free Tree for Fall Tree Planting program and IRA. In addition, federal funding provides: Equipment and training for volunteer fire districts Wildfire mitigation funding Forest management activities. You can take immediate action to help preserve these essential programs by getting rid of this crooked crime of an administration and voting down any budget proposals that continue to attack the public good while handing money to the rich. If you want to take us back to the 1950s Raise taxes on everyone making 200% of their local median household income - with the highest hikes on the top 10 percent of households by income. Lower taxes on people making below the median income in their area. Stop cutting public good for private gain and do the reverse. We the people are pissed. Do your job. Impeach convict and remove anyone collaborating with this orange monster and return the country to law and order- ban all masked unwarranted ID-hiding “ICE” agents, abolish ice, and create serious immigration reform rather than promoting white nationalism. Represent us!
