Prioritize the New York Health Act

To: Sen. Martins, Assembly Member Norber

From: A constituent in Port Washington, NY

April 14

Thank you for your continued leadership on behalf of our district. As an engaged constituent, I’m writing to urge you to prioritize the New York Health Act (S3425/A1466) as we approach the end of the legislative session. As you know, this bill remains the only legislation that would guarantee comprehensive, universal health coverage for every New Yorker. In a time of profound uncertainty—when access to care too often depends on employment, income, or immigration status—state-level leadership has never been more crucial. Ongoing federal attacks on healthcare are designed to instill fear and undermine our wellbeing. We need bold, principled action here in New York to push back. I’m counting on you to stand with your constituents and work within your caucus to pass the New York Health Act. This legislation would create a healthcare system rooted in stability and equity—one that can’t be dismantled by political whim and one that protects the health and dignity of every New Yorker. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I hope I can count on your support.
