I am writing to urge you to support impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump for his systematic politicization of the United States armed forces. The military must remain apolitical, yet Trump has repeatedly violated this fundamental principle by transforming military bases into campaign venues. Since his second term began, Trump has delivered partisan political speeches at military installations across the country. On June 10, 2025, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he urged uniformed service members to vote for Republicans, warning that Democrats would reverse his restoration of the Fort Bragg name if they won the midterms. He shared the stage with Michael Whatley, a former Republican National Committee chairman and Senate candidate, while campaign merchandise including MAGA hats and Trump-themed T-shirts were sold on base. This pattern continued at Naval Station Norfolk on October 5, 2025, where Trump called Democrats a gnat during the Navy's 250th anniversary amid a government shutdown. At Marine Corps Base Quantico on September 30, 2025, he criticized radical left Democrats and warned of a war from within. At West Point on May 24, 2025, he appeared in a red MAGA hat at the commencement ceremony, telling cadets he rebuilt the army and repeating campaign lines about facing more investigations than Al Capone. Defense Department policy explicitly bars active-duty service members from partisan political activity. Army guidance states that the Army as an institution must be nonpartisan and appear so too. While the President faces no such legal restriction, every modern president has respected the military's apolitical standards until now. Trump's actions threaten the integrity of our armed forces and violate the sacred trust between civilian leadership and the military. Using service members as props for partisan rallies and threatening to deploy them against American citizens crosses a constitutional line. I urge you to support articles of impeachment, conviction, and removal from office.
