This budget bill is a massive wealth transfer from low and middle-income Americans to the richest households. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, over the next decade, around 80% of the benefits will go to the top 10% of income earners, while the poorest 30% of households will see their income decrease by $1,600 per year on average. The bill strips vital support programs like Medicaid and food assistance, making it harder for struggling families to make ends meet. This disproportionately harms the most vulnerable in our society to give tax cuts to the already wealthy and corporations. I urge you to reject this regressive and exploitative legislation that widens economic inequality and stand up for policies that uplift all Americans, not just the privileged few.
