From: A constituent in Reynoldsburg, OH

April 7

The president's recent actions on trade tariffs are causing significant economic turmoil and hardship for many Americans. Numerous experts have warned that these tariffs will lead to soaring costs for consumers, massive job losses across various industries, and potentially trigger a recession. The stock market has already taken a major hit, jeopardizing the retirement savings and investment portfolios of countless citizens. While the administration touts these measures as a path to economic revitalization, the reality is that hard-working families are bearing the brunt through higher prices, layoffs, and diminished financial security. Pursuing protectionist policies in a globalized economy seems short-sighted and detrimental to the long-term interests of the nation. I urge you to reconsider this destructive trade war and explore more measured approaches that safeguard American prosperity without inflicting widespread economic pain. The well-being of your constituents should be the top priority when formulating policies with such far-reaching consequences. A course correction is needed to prevent further damage to the livelihoods of the very people you were elected to serve.
