Vote NO on the House-approved budget bill
To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz
From: A constituent in Dallas, TX
June 3, 2025
I am again writing to urge you to vote NO on the House-approved budget bill.
This legislation would cut funding to essential programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and Medicare—lifelines for millions of Texans, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Reducing funding to these programs will deepen financial inequality and push vulnerable populations further into hardship.
At the same time, the bill raises the debt ceiling while significantly increasing the national deficit—a contradiction that makes little fiscal or ethical sense. Slashing social safety nets while ballooning the national debt is not responsible governance. It’s a short-sighted approach prioritizing political agendas over Texans’ needs.
My wife and I urge you to protect the programs that sustain our communities, especially during these times of economic uncertainty. We urge you to stand against this harmful legislation and vote NO on the House Republicans budget bill.
